What we do

Cumbria Education Business Partnership, is part of The Appleby Heritage Centre Ltd, based next to the Settle to Carlisle Railway at Appleby-in-Westmorland.  Appleby Heritage Centre opened in 1996 to provide opportunities for local people to improve their employability skills.  The centre has two workshops purpose fitted out to provide training in motor vehicle studies, mechanical manufacturing and engineering maintenance.  Additionally the centre provides a wide range of academic and non-academic training, including health and safety courses.  Cumbria EBP became part of Appleby heritage Centre and compliments the ATHC offering perfectly.

Cumbria EBP is able to provide schools and colleges with a high quality service, offering health and safety placement visits and associated risk assessments.   Staff have many years vocational experience and formal industry standard  health and safety qualifications in Managing Safely such as the IOSHH Managing Safely qualification which enables them to make full and competent judgments on risks and hazards in work placement settings and ensure that both student and work placement providers are aware of their responsibilities and any special requirements.

The team are also able to provide a range of employability and work ready programmes to suit individual customer needs. We can also provide a whole work experience package service of sourcing placements, administration of the students and completing risk assessments to take away the time constraints for schools and colleges. We have a brand new database which has access to thousands of  employers interested in work experience, apprenticeships etc to help support students  within Cumbria.
