We are working in partnership with Eden District Council to offer businesses financial support to take on Apprentices.

As an employer how much do I get?

You will be offered a grant of up to £2,000 toward wage costs for each new Apprenticeship.

If you are already eligible for the Government’s £1,000 apprenticeship incentive payment then we will offer £1,000 to top up this grant to £2,000 in total.

Which businesses will be funded?

The funding is limited, so the priority will be on those businesses that can offer a good chance for the Apprentice to become a permanent member of the team.

The business must be located in Eden district.

Businesses employing fewer than 250 employees are eligible for this funding, although smaller businesses may take priority.

Criteria for Apprentices

  • Apprentices need to be aged from 16 to 24.
  • Pay will be at least the National Apprenticeship rate of £3.90 per hour.
  • Hours Apprentices will need to work a minimum of 30 hours per week.
